JOB DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS (Brief Summary)

1. General Information
   → Bi-vocational (parsonage included)
   → In order to minister effectively in the region, it is expected that the pastor will live in the Florien area upon appointment

2. Qualifications - In addition to meeting the Biblical requirements for the office of elder/pastor (1 Tim 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9), the pastor must:
   → be a mature and growing Christian, maintaining a strong personal relationship with God through spiritual disciplines and exemplary personal, marital, and family relationships (if applicable)
   → possess a sound knowledge of Scripture and ability to interpret, proclaim, and apply it accurately
   → exhibit a sincere love for others and a passion for reaching unbelievers → agree with FBC's statement of faith and distinctive vision, desiring to lead FBC towards continued health and revitalization

3. Responsibilities - The pastor's role will be specifically focused on:
   → teaching/preaching and planning/executing weekly worship services
   → leading as a Christ-like servant in the oversight of the church's direction, budget, and alignment of its various ministries with the overarching vision of the church

       → developing strategies for the church to engage and evangelize the community

       → regular pastoral care (e.g. visitation, prayer, follow-up with visitors, etc.)

       → officiation of funerals or weddings

       → emphasizing the mandate of the Great Commission to make disciples both locally and

       globally

       → moderating in business meetings and serving as an ex officio member of all committees

       → serving as chief administrator of paid church staff
